About BUTE WHEELERS
The Bute Wheelers Cycling Club ride regularly
around and sometimes off-island on Saturdays and Sundays, and in the
spring and summer evenings we have a 10 mile Time Trial and Hill Climb
on the Serpentine,
which is a classic alpine-like climb next to the sea!
5 ferries ride - 10th June & TT & HC on Isle of Cumbrae - 18th
June - see news page
If you are an islander (or regularly come over to
Bute) and want to join our club, we are looking for new members. Get
in touch via the Facebook
page or contact Murray.
Annually we hold a triathlon in May, see more info
here. And the cycling weekend in September see
info here. Come and join us and play on
the Buteful island of Bute.
About the Isle of Bute
Bute is a small island "doon the watter" in the
Firth of Clyde about 33 miles West of Glasgow, see http://www.visitbute.com for more details.
You may have cycle here in one or both of our
cycling weekends: We organise the Isle of Bute
Triathlon & Rothesay Cycling
Weekend in May and September respectively.
Bute is also part of the "Five Ferries Route",
which includes a ride of about 8 miles between the two ferries that
connect Bute to the mainland, the overall route is about 70 miles, or
a shorter version (excluding riding between Wemyss bay and Ardrossan)
of 51 miles as seen here: http://www.5ferrychallenge.com
You can get to Bute using Calmac Ferries: https://www.calmac.co.uk/destinations/bute
